We use your information to run Magenda, keep event access secure and support your account. We do not sell personal information or use your private event content for advertising.
Who handles your information
Magenda is operated by Apptimus Tech (Pvt) Ltd. ("we", "us" and "our"). This policy covers the Magenda website, installed web app and the event services we provide. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.
We decide how account, billing, security and support information is used to operate Magenda. Event organisers decide which guests to invite, what details to collect and who can access their event. When we process guest and event information on an organiser’s instructions, the organiser remains responsible for their collection and use of that information.
Information we handle
The information involved depends on the features you use:
- Account information: your name, sign-in email address or phone number, verification records and account activity.
- Event and guest information: event details, guest names and contact details, invitation access, RSVP responses, party sizes, check-in records, planning notes, seating and meal preferences. An organiser or collaborator may provide this information about you.
- Content you contribute: photographs, captions, wishes, poll or quiz responses and other event activity. Meal or dietary notes may reveal sensitive information; only include what is needed and what you are authorised to share.
- Payment information: customer and billing details you enter for checkout, purchase amounts and currency, payment status, and payment or subscription references. Card details are entered with PayHere; Magenda does not receive or store your full card number or security code.
- Technical and support information: session identifiers, IP addresses and request information used for security and troubleshooting, and information you send when contacting us.
- Optional measurement information: with your permission, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Meta Pixel receive browser and device information, cookie or similar identifiers, public-page visits and interactions, and campaign identifiers. Clarity creates session recordings and heatmaps of public-page interactions with content masking. These tools do not run on private event, invitation, guest, account or sign-in pages.
Why we use it
We use information to sign you in, deliver requested verification messages, provide invitations and event tools, process payments, manage subscriptions, respond to requests, prevent misuse and meet applicable legal obligations.
If you enable analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand public-site visits and Microsoft Clarity to understand public-page interactions and improve the website. If you enable advertising, Meta Pixel helps measure public visits and attribute them to ad campaigns. These providers process information under their own policies. Change or withdraw your choices through Cookie settings; withdrawing a choice stops future optional collection for that category.
Where a legal basis is required, the relevant basis depends on the purpose: providing our service under a contract, complying with law, protecting legitimate interests such as account security, or your consent where required. Organisers must have their own appropriate basis for collecting and sharing guest information. We do not use event information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Keeping and protecting information
We keep account and event information for as long as it is needed to provide the service and handle legitimate operational, security and legal needs. Payment records may need to be retained for accounting, disputes or legal obligations after other information is removed. Retention depends on the type of record and its purpose; we do not promise a single deletion period for every record.
Cancelling or archiving an event, ending paid access, signing out or uninstalling the app does not by itself delete server records. Contact us to request deletion. We will explain any information that needs to be retained and the reason. Copies may remain in backups until those backups are replaced or expire.
Access controls, session security and protected media delivery help safeguard information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep sign-in codes and personal invitation links private, review collaborator access and avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information.
Your choices and requests
You can edit your account name in Your account and update event information through the available controls. To request access, correction, deletion, a copy of your information, or another privacy right available under applicable law, email [email protected]. You can also contact us to withdraw consent for processing based on consent or raise an objection or concern.
Tell us which account or event your request concerns without sending a sign-in code, invitation token or card details. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity. For information controlled by an event organiser, we may need to involve that organiser. We will respond in accordance with applicable requirements and explain any lawful limits on a request.
You may also seek guidance from the relevant data protection authority and use any complaint rights available under applicable law.
Children and family events
Accounts and paid purchases should be managed by someone with legal capacity to enter into these terms. If you organise an event involving children, obtain any required permission from a parent or guardian before sharing their information or photographs. Contact us if information about a child has been shared inappropriately.
Cookies and policy updates
Our cookie policy explains essential browser storage, optional measurement and installed-app files. We may update this policy as our service or obligations change. The date above identifies this version. We will provide additional notice of material changes where required.
